Whether you off-road, camp or enjoy water sports, Sand Hollow State Park, located just outside St. George, Utah, has it all! From I-15, you'll take exit 16 and travel east on Hwy 9 for about 4 miles before turning right onto Sand Hollow Road. Follow it south for another 4 miles and the park entrance will be on your left.

Sand Hollow State Park has over 20,000 acres of sandy beaches, red rock formations and off-road trails. The reservoir allows for primitive tent-camping beachside and has picnic areas for day-use. Or you can snag a spot at the Sandpit Campground that offers ATV access, limited standard hookups and group sites. Alternatively, you can spread out and enjoy access to full RV hook-ups at the Westside Campground that has fire rings and well-maintained, covered picnic areas. Both campgrounds have restrooms with showers, which is included with your camping fee.

If you're looking for off-road trails and sand dunes to ride, Sand Hollow is one of the most popular spots for ATVs and OHVs. There's a good mix of technical trails and open dune riding, depending on your skill and interest. Either bring your own vehicle or rent one at the Sand Hollow State Park rental shop. Plan ahead if you're renting a vehicle though, since they book up fast.

If water sports are your thing, you'll love playing around in the reservoir at Sand Hollow. The water is warm, making it fun for swimming, boating or water-skiing. Or if you'd rather do some fishing, you'll enjoy the beautiful red sand scenery as the backdrop for your day on the lake. The beaches are expansive, making a great spot to set up a shade canopy and let your kids build sand castles and play in the water.

While you're playing out in the sun at Sand Hollow State Park, be sure to come prepared with plenty of water, sunscreen and a camera, of course!
