Trail Rating: Moderate
Distance: Approximately 0.5 miles
Notes: At the Lee Canyon Ski Resort on Mount Charleston, about 45 minutes northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, is the Bristlecone Hiking Trail. You can park in the ski resort lot and catch the trailhead at the north end of the parking area. This hiking trail takes you through a deep forested area with downed trees, towering aspens and thick pines. It's a relatively simple hike with a clean pathway. It's especially scenic between seasons when you catch the changing color on the leaves and the freshly fallen snow. In the summer, it's a nice respite from the Las Vegas Valley heat and the general store at the ski resort sells ice cream as a refreshing treat after your hike. There are public restrooms at the ski resort and parking is free.
Trail conditions are always changing, so be careful out there and TREAD LIGHTLY. Leave no trace. Pack in. Pack out.
